Central and South AlUla Masterplan refreshed the MP2 Masterplan following developments within the AlUla Vision and changes to the land use quantum and distribution. This project as for delivering an infrastructure master plan up to RIBA Stage 2.
The SDS team’s experience was responsible for managing all the disciplines within the project delivery, managing clients with RCU, and preparing the mobility deliverables, including 2D Concept Design, Network Assessment, and Streetscape design for all three deliverable submissions.

The AlUla Central and South masterplan is being reimagined with an innovative transportation framework supporting the local population and tourists. Key elements of the mobility strategy include:
Integrated Public Transport Systems:
Develop a comprehensive public transport network that includes buses, shuttles, and potentially light rail systems. This plan will reduce dependence on personal vehicles and enhance connectivity within AlUla and neighbouring regions.
Non-Motorized Transport Paths:
An extensive network of pedestrian and bicycle paths throughout the central and south areas encourages non-motorised movement and provides a healthy, environmentally friendly way to explore the area.
Smart Mobility Solutions:
Implement smart technology solutions such as digital signage, real-time traffic management, and app-based services to streamline movement and improve the overall transportation experience.
Tourist-Friendly Transportation:
Specialized transport services such as tourist buses and guided tours offer easy access to key attractions while mitigating traffic and environmental impact near sensitive historical sites.
Sustainability Focus:
Emphasis on green transportation options, including using electric vehicles and providing charging stations to promote low-carbon mobility.
